STATEN ISLAND, NY —  The following statement is from Sam Pirozzolo, the Republican and Conservative nominee for State Assembly District 63, regarding State Supreme Court Justice Lyle Frank’s ruling against the vaccine mandate for New York City Police Officers earlier today…

“Justice Frank’s ruling validates a belief held by myself and many others that ‘vaccinate to work’ mandates are wrong and that they violate our most fundamental rights. This is a major victory for those who were terminated from the NYPD — but, make no mistake, this fight is far from over. There are still more than 1,300 other municipal employees who are still unable to return to, what was for many of them, their career.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt: Mayor Adams inherited these bad policies from his predecessor — but now he has an opportunity to lead this city toward a state of common-sense. He cannot appeal the court’s decision; he instead must take steps to reinstate all those who were improperly terminated, and they should be offered nothing less than backpay for the inconvenience and hardship that was caused.”
